Additional Notes of Torance Edward (Ed) Frain

Torence Edward Frain, son of Mary and Charles Frain, was born in Centre County, Pennsylvania on October 11, 1877. He departed this life October 18, 1959 at his home near Culver. He came to Kansas in 1878 with his parents and settled in Lincoln county. In 1884 he came to Ottawa county where he resided the rest of his life.

He was married to Mary Lavina Alley of Culver on June 21, 1905. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lavina of the home; five sons; Theodore Frain of Minneapolis, Charles of Omaha, Nebr., Garold of Bennington, Lawrence of Culver, Eugene of Hill City; two sisters; Eve Humbarger of Kansas City, Mo., Sarah Boles of El Monte Calif.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Frain spent the last six years of his life in a wheel chair. He was a patient, loving, devoted husband and father.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Culver Presbyterian church with the Rev. Keith Seelig officiating. Pallbearers were Lee Humbarger, George Breithaupt, Jim Pitts, John McKee, Cliff Richards, and Emil Marty. Mrs. Howard Chambers sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Bill Hemenway, pianist. Burial was in Crown Point cemetery near Culver. Fouts Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
